ABOUT US:

Welcome to Valiant Shepherd’s! We are happy you stopped by to visit our website! We understand the importance of knowing who you are purchasing from so we will do our best to introduce ourselves.
We have owned Shepherds for many years but purchased our first breeding dogs in 2014. We found it difficult to find well bred, properly health tested individuals in our rural area which brought on our decision to raise German Shepherds. We’ve been raising and breeding Arabian horses for over 20 years and understand the concepts of breeding form to function, proper bloodlines, temperaments and trying to produce the best quality possible. With our knowledge of horse breeding we understood that dog breeding is also similar in the fact you are focusing on producing as best as you can with the main goal of improving the breed.

We currently live on a 10 acre horse/dog farm in rural Iowa. We have a large state inspected dog kennel with a large fenced area. If our dogs are not loose with us then they are usually in their fenced yard or in their 10×10 indoor and outdoor kennels. They WILL announce your arrival but when they get used to you, you will find how kind and loving they all are. We have children and we expect every dog on the farm to protect, love and be companions to our children.

Our puppies are raised in indoor/outdoor kennels and learn at an early age about socialization, indoor and outdoor noises, they get used to kids, farm equipment, other dogs and various happenings around the farm. Once they hit about 6 weeks old we allow them to go outside and they begin potty training. Our hope for our buyers is not only that you find your companion but that your dog finds his. Our dogs and puppies are part of the family, when they leave, a part of us does too. We do not let just anyone buy these puppies. See below:

Our Requirements: We require that all buyers research or have knowledge of the German Shepherd breed before purchasing, German Shepherds are high active animals that need plenty of exercise. We hip and elbow test our dogs to ensure the highest chance of producing animals without problems. Proper training, nutrition and handling of your dog will be a large part in their future health. Reading and researching how to properly train, feed and care for your Shepherd is crucial before purchasing.
